Space Shuttle Challenger

It's hard to believe that 25 years ago today the Space Shuttle Challenger lifted off and about a minute after that blew apart over Florida.

Where were you January 28, 1986 when you heard about or watched the Space Shuttle.

I remember it very clearly. I was working. The company I worked for had rented a banquet room at a near by Holiday Inn to invite vendor in to view new product. We had a TV set up so we could watch the Space Shuttle take off. I was interested because this was the first time a teacher was going to be going up in the Space Shuttle (Christa McAuliffe). We were all standing around the TV and it took off and then was gone. No one knew if it was true or did the camera mess up. No the Space Shuttle Challenger blew up. That day they didn't play any of the regular scheduled programs. They played the Space Shuttle blowing up over and over again.

I'd love to hear your story of what and where you were when you heard about the Space Shuttle Challenger.

I was in science of the other teachers came in crying, saying what happened. Turned out, he was one of the teachers in the running to go up in it.

I was getting ready to head to class. I had a presentation to give on the Faulklands War for my History of Latin America class. The TV was on in the living room and that is when I saw it. I could not believe it happened and was stunned.
It's hard to believe that it's been 25 years.

So hard to believe that was 25 years ago already. That was during my short stint as a stay at home mom. I don't remember exactly what I was doing but I do know I was home with my daughter
