Has anyone watched anything on Oprah's new network OWN?
Last night was my first time. It was about 10pm and I was looking for something to watch. I have wanted to check out OWN so I clicked on over there. It's channel 279 on DirecTv. The movie The Way We Were was just starting. I haven't see this great movie in years and thought I'd watch it. I don't watch movies on the USA network because there are way to many commercials. I think I have found a new network that out does USA with commercials that would be OWN. The movie didn't end till 1am so that means it had a hours worth of commercials. I think I was able to fall asleep and wake up and not miss any of the movie. The commercial breaks were so long I think a couple of times I forgot what I was really watching. It was all the same commercials over and over again. A couple of them even played back to back the same commercial something about wind and wave power. Some of the shows they showed commercials for, that are on OWN looked really good. But I will never watch another movie on that network and if I watch one of the shows and there are that many commercials I will not watch them either.
I haven't seen The Way We Were in many years. It's still a wonderful movie. I was shocked to read that it was made in 1973. The movie has a run time of 118 minutes. Remember on OWN it took 180 minutes to show it.
If you haven't seen this movie it is about: Two desperate people have a wonderful romance, but their political views and convictions drive them apart.
Starring: Barbra Streisand and Robert Redford. Barbra Streisand it so beautiful in this movie and Robert Redford is super handsome.
In the movie Katie played by Barbra Streisand tells Hubbell played by Robert Redford that she wished they were older and things would be different. That is not a quote it was something like that. I think they should make a movie of them older. Katie and Hubbell could get back together and Hubbell could reconnect with his daughter Rachele. I think it would be a really great love story. I have loved Barbra Streisand in the Focker movies. She still is beautiful. Maybe they have already made something like this and I have just missed it.
