Critter Problems?

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Woodstream. All opinions are 100% mine.

We live in the country on a little lake. We do have neighbors we are not on acreages. Next to our house we have a old unkempt house with many animals (rodents) living in it. No it is not abandoned. A person lives in this house with her two dogs. There are so many animals living in the attic of this house that she can't sleep at night. Most of the animals are nocturnal and are very busy during the night. I haven't been in this house in many years but I have heard that it smells from the animal dropping too. Because the animals have a place to live they stay around the area. They in turn get into every ones garbage, poop on our deck and just plan make a mess.

We are animal lovers and really don't want to hurt any of these animals. We have trapped several raccoons. With a old cage that was very scary for us and the animal. We then took them what we thought as far away but I think it wasn't far enough and they were able to come back.

Everyone had dogs and cats in this area so poison is out of the question. I would be sick if I killed someones beloved pet. But we really need to get rid of some of these raccoons from around here.

When I don't know what to do I go to the Internet and find answers to my questions. I wanted to know about Animal Trapping Tips. We needed help.

We found some interesting information on Havahart Animal Traps. There are Havahart Easy Set Large Animal Trap and Havahart Easy Set Small Animal Trap. Both of these traps are constructed of sturdy rust-resistant wire mesh with steel reinforcements for long life. Mesh openings are smaller than other traps of comparable size to prevent escapes and stolen bait.

The trap we used we had to put our hand down in front of the cage to open it then run like a crazy person. Just in case the animals came after us. With the Havahart cages the release lever is located at the top of the trap so there is a galvanized steel barrier between the animal and you. They are also very easy to set.

I think this will make it easier for us and the animals we end up trapping. If you too have a critter problem please go check out the Havahart traps.
