Book Review - My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult

Anna is not sick, but she might as well be. By age thirteen, she has undergone countless surgeries, transfusions, and shots so that her older sister, Kate, can somehow fight the leukemia that has plagued her since childhood. The product of preimplantation genetic diagnosis, Anna was conceived as a bone marrow match for Kate - a life and a role that she has never challenged...until now. Lake most teenagers, Anna is beginning to question who she truly is. But unlike most teenagers, she has always been defined in terms of her sister. So, Anna makes a decision that for most would be unthinkable-a decision that will tear her family apart and possibly have fatal consequences for the sister she loves.

Wow this book was really something. I couldn't put it down and the end I cried so hard. I couldn't even see what I was reading I was crying so hard. I haven't cried like that in a long time. I can't wait to see the movie now but I have heard that the ending is different. The movies are never as good as the books any ways. This book is a most read!

Sounds like an amazing book. I've been wanting to read this one, plus I want to see the movie. Thanks for the review. The party is on September 12th. Anytime after 3 pm. We have soccer in the morning. Remember no gifts. Hate to make people feel obligated to bring something. Having you there is gift enough. Hope you can come.

I have read all her books, she is a very good writer. I do have a hard time with some of her books like this one in particular. I haven't wanted to see the movie because of the ending. So maybe I will go see it now because the ending is different & I won't leave a sobbing mess??

Thanks for the book review. I haven't read any of her books, I'm more into the vampire and fantasy kinda novels. But I might have to pick this one up.

Have a fantastic weekend,

Jane
