Fertilize Friday

It's Friday again and time for Fertilize Friday. I started doing this from Judi's blog and I believe there is a main blog for this that you can Mr. Linky to. Sorry I don't do all that but I do like to show off my garden.

My garden right now is so beautiful. There is color everywhere.

I have some rose's getting ready to open.

These are as big as my hand.

These Chick N Hens were a birthday gift. They look happy in their new home.

This here is my problem spot. It's on the lake side of my house and it's very shady. Does anyone have any idea's for me?

I LOVE that big PINK flower - what is that?? All my potted plants are looking like the last days of summer and saying to me "We want to be replaced with our fellow fall flowers - NOW!" Aacckk. . . . don't know what to do. . .it's only mid-August - too early to pull the plug on all of them and too early to plant my winter pansies ~ LOL! Any suggestions??

Your hibicus is beautiful. I don't know what I'd put on the lake side.

Hostas grow great in the shade and will be beautiful looking back at them from the lake. They are a perennial and multiply quickly to fill up the bare area.
Your roses and hibiscus are beautiful.

I love the side of the house just as it is. You do not want to add more landscaping to maintain. I have way too much that came with this current home. I kinda want to change some of it back to grass too.

Hostas-- ick. They grow in the shade, but I think they are ugly in groups larger than 3 or 4.

Other shade-tolerant plants are hydrangeas, periwinkle ground cover, impatiens (annuals), bleeding hearts, ferns, flowering dogwood, Plumbago, Lily of the valley, Coral bells, and Daylily. Also, Turtleheads will tolerate shade.

Have fun! :D
